Nonprofit Partnership Network Strengthening the Capacity of Nonprofit Organizations

Hands On ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – A free S.M.A.R.T Goals Workshop will be held on November 21st, 2013 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at the Clarksville Montgomery County Public Library Large Meeting Room.

Does your mission statement inspire a sense of values that help community members become successful? Do you know the steps needed to write or evaluate a mission statement?

If you really want to make a difference, you’ll do better with a vision and strong goals. But don’t settle for just any goals. Make sure yours are SMART: Specific, Measurable, Aggressively Attainable, Relevant, and Time-Bound.

Perhaps you’ve heard of SMART goals before but this session will teach you a simple system to rate the effectiveness of any goal in each of the five SMART criteria.

This learning session introduces the S.M.A.R.T. system used to set goals and improve the direction of your non-profit organization. You will learn the difference between a vision and a mission statement and how to evaluate and reevaluate your mission statement.

Alfreda Rose, a Leadership Science Capstone student will present the session to local nonprofit organizations, board members and community volunteers. Alfreda is pursuing a Bachelor in Business Administration degree at Austin Peay State University.

Her concentration is in Management with a minor in The Science of Leadership and an emphasis in communication. Alfreda has been a part of the Clarksville, TN community since 1987. She has held several Management and leadership positions throughout her career.

The Nonprofit Partnership Network is a grassroots group of local organizations working together to strengthen the community. The learning sessions provide an opportunity for nonprofit staff, board members, students and volunteers to come together to learn about important topics to help gain practical skills that improve their effectiveness in our community.

The S.M.A.R.T. Goals Learning Session will be held at the Clarksville Montgomery County Public Library, 350 Pageant Lane on November 21st, 2013 from 1:00pm-3:00pm. in the large meeting room.
