Clarksville High School Lady Wildcats tamed at Home by Franklin High Lady Rebels 46-22

Clarksville High School WildcatsClarksville, TN – Turnovers put the Clarksville High Lady Wildcats in a hole they could not dig out of. They lost at home to the Franklin High Lady Rebels 46-22, Thursday evening.

The Lady Wildcats had trouble escaping the Lady Rebels traps. They turned the ball over 14 times in the first half and had trouble converting on the few shot attempts they made.

Conversely, the Lady Rebels moved the ball well, using the constant passes to find gaps in the Lady Wildcats defense, wear them down and control the clock.

After being outscored 14-8 in the first period, the Lady Wildcats scored just three points in the second period and 11 total points in the 2nd half of the game.

With a 21-11 lead, the Lady Rebels opened the 3rd period with a 9-0 run. Jodi Hill scored 7 of the 9 points. Haley Bearden scored the only 2 points for the Lady Wildcats in the period.

The Lady Wildcats generated their best offense in the fourth period, 9 points, but were still outscored by the Lady Rebels.

Bearden led the Lady Wildcats with 8 points and 8 rebounds. She was effective when the Lady Wildcats could get the ball to her in the post. Bearden scored all her points in the paint and had the most rebounds of both teams.

She was one of seven different Lady Wildcat scorers.

The Lady Wildcats made two 3-pointers in the game; One by Ke’Oshea Deaver and one by Lainey Persinger.

Hill led all scorers with 17 points. Her Lady Rebel teammate, Meredith Ovies added 11. Seven different lady Rebels scored as well.

The Lady Rebels had only 2 more rebounds than the Lady Wildcats, 18-16. They made 8 of 15 from the free throw line.

The Lady Wildcats made 3 of 7 from the free throw line.
