Gray finished with 13 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds on the night. Her totals in rebounds and assists were both career highs for the Clarksville native. In fact her eight rebounds at halftime topped her previous career high. In addition, her 12 assists were one shy of the 12-year old Austin Peay record.

Tiasha GrayThe Lady Govs gained control of the contest with an 8-0 run over the next three minutes, with senior guard Nicole Olszewski, freshman Beth Rates and junior Kristen Stainback each hitting a pair of free throws to build the 17-9 APSU lead at the 13:35 mark.

The Lady Govs pushed their lead to 10 points in the next three-minute stanza, freshman Tearra Banks’ jumper at the 10:23 mark giving APSU a 25-15 advantage. The Austin Peay lead would hit 14 points before Trevecca pushed back.

Tearra BanksTrevecca (1-1) scored six straight points, including four straight by Christina Curtner, to cut APSU’s lead to eight points, 31-23, with 7:19 remaining in the half. The Trojans would get as close as five points with three minutes left but Austin Peay scored nine straight points to halt the Trevecca momentum and took a 47-36 lead into halftime.

Austin Peay’s lead would never fall back into single digits during the second half. However, the Lady Govs did not extend their lead to 20 points until Nicole Olszewski’s jumper with 6:16 left for an 83-63 advantage. The APSU lead would reach 25 points before head coach Carrie Daniels emptied her bench for the final 3:33.

Banks and Rivers each scored 17 points off the bench to lead the APSU scoring effort. Olszewski added 16 points and Stainback chipped in 12 points. Eleven of the 13 Lady Govs scored in the contest.
