Clarksville’s Kenwood High School Lady Knights Scoreless First Period leads to 75-47 loss to Ensworth Lady Tigers

Kenwood High SchoolClarksville, TN – The Ensworth High School Lady Tigers outscored the Kenwood High School Lady Knights 14-0 in the first period and went on to win the game 75-47.

Seven different Lady Tigers scored in the game, including four who scored in double figures.

Kennesha Nichols led all scorers with 22 points. She made two 3-pointers in the game. Brittany Smith scored 17, Brielle Smith scored 15 and Jordyn Cambridge added 11.

Alonja Thomas scored 18 points for the Lady Knights. Jasmine Johnson scored 10 and Samone James added 9.

The Lady Knights committed 9 turnovers and grabbed just 3 rebounds in the first period. The got few shot attempts and none of them found the net.

The Lady Knights first points were a couple of free throws made by Johnson at the 7:07 mark in the second period. By then they were down 18-2. They finished the first half with 15 points.

The Lady Knights offense improved in the second half, but could not make up the ground loss in the first period. They scored 14 in the third period and scored their most, 18, in the fourth.

James scored all of her points in the second half of the game. The Lady Knights also made 12-of-14 free throws in the second half.

The Lady Tigers out-rebounded the Lady Knights 34-19. Nichols pulled down 8 boards to go with her 22 points.

The Lady Tigers scored at least 20 points in three of the four periods. They averaged over 18 points per period.
