Clarksville, TN – The Whites Creek Cobras were unable to stop the Kenwood Knights constant, aggressive attacks to the basket. The Knights offensive aggression led to a dominating 71-39 victory.
Daniel Norl led the charge as the Knights offense scored early and often on their own court against the Cobras Thursday night.
Norl scored 13 points and was one of 11 different Knights scorers. Jimario Rivers scored 12 points and Kenya Mosley added 10.
Norl opened the game with a 3-pointer. Afterwards, the Knights went on a 13-3 run that established a lead they would not relinquish all night.The Cobras ate up the clock, passing the ball, trying to set up their half court offense. However, whenever they failed to score, the Knights would get the rebound and initiate a lethal fast break.
The Knights out-rebounded the Cobras 7-1 in the first period. Each rebound turned into points for the Knights. They finished the game with 20 rebounds. The Cobras pulled down 10 total.
After outscoring the Cobras 18-9 in the first period, the Knights opened the second period with a 14-2 run. The run ended after Rivers grabbed a defensive rebound, then dribbled full court and threw down a two-handed dunk to make the score 32-11 with 3:36 left in the first half.
The Cobras scored 9 points in each of the first three periods. At the beginning of the fourth period they were down 56-29.
The improved slightly with 12 points in the fourth period, but it was not enough to make a difference in the game.
Terrence Burrus scored 10 points for the Cobras. Devin Cockrell added 8 points. Nine different Cobra players scored in the game.
The Cobras shot 7-of- 6 from the free throw line and made three, 3-pointers in the game.
The Knights finished 10-of-18 from the stripe and made 4 beyond the 3-point arc.
The win was the Knights second this week. They are currently undefeated. Next they travel to play Antioch Friday night.
The Cobras are winless and travel to play Hunter’s Lane Friday night.
