The slick-fielding outfielder was an All-Inland Valley League Honorable Mention and Golden Glove Award recipient for her junior campaign.

“She’s a primary outfielder, which was one of the main areas we needed to improve on,” said Austin Peay head coach Stephanie Paris. “She’s got a plus-arm and great speed, and we expect her to play right away. She’s excelled in the outfield for a long time and we need her out there.”

She was Rookie of the Year for her 2012 campaign, hitting .315 with 12 runs scored and 10 RBI for Arlington, earning first-team all-league honors for her first varsity campaign. An academic standout, Acree has been a Scholar-Athlete Award recipient for both volleyball and softball from 2010-13.

“She won’t steal a ton of bags but she has better-than-average speed,” Paris said. “Her size is a bit deceiving, but she’s got good pop. Like a lot of other kids we’ve signed, we expect her to drive in some runs for us.”

Kacy plays her club ball for the Newport Beach Riptide Gold, a local club that had eight commitments, including Acree, for the 2014 season.

Kacy is the daughter of Jon and Sylvia Acree. She plans to major in communications at Austin Peay.
