Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security requests Public’s Assistance with Identity Theft

Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland SecurityNashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security’s Identity Crimes Unit is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect possibly connected to an identity theft case.

The unknown suspect used stolen credit card information to make four purchases this past Monday. The perpetrator purchased an Apple iPad at Best Buy at the West Nashville shopping center in West Meade, Tennessee at approximately 9:30pm on Monday.

He then bought another iPad and two iPad minis at the Walmart Supercenter on Charlotte Avenue at approximately 9:53pm that same night.

Surveillance video appears to have captured the suspect wearing a black and white stripped sweatshirt, dark blue pants, white and blue tennis shoes and a gray and red baseball cap. He looks to be approximately 5-foot-10 to six-feet in height and about 160 to 180 pounds.

Anyone who may have information about the suspect or his whereabouts are urged to contact the department’s Identity Crimes Unit at 615.687.2351. Tipsters may remain anonymous.
