Montgomery Central Lady Indians can’t maintain quick start in 53-36 loss to Hickman County

 

Montgomery Central High SchoolCunningham, TN – Montgomery Central High School came out and dominated the opening quarter, January 9th, in their District 11-AA contest versus Hickman County High School at the Thomas-Young Gymnasium, but the final three quarters weren’t kind to the Lady Indians as they fell to the Lady Bulldogs, 53-36.

The Lady Indians (5-8, 1-4 District 11-AA) jumped out to a quick start scoring 10 of the first 14 points of the game to lead by six, midway through the opening period.

Hickman County would rally to tie the game by going on a 6-0 run over a span of 57 seconds to knot the score at 10-10, with 2:03 left.

Clarksville’s Pat Summitt to be Honored in 2013-2014 Tennessee Blue Book

 

State of TennesseeNashville, TN – In her 38 years coaching the University of Tennessee Lady Volunteers basketball team, Pat Summitt received hundreds of honors. Her teams won more than 1,000 games, 32 Southeastern Conference championships and eight national championships.

Her players who completed their playing eligibility at UT had a 100 percent graduation rate. Clarksville Gas and Water Department reports Shiloh Road Water Outage

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has turned off water service on Shiloh Road to repair a six-inch water main leak. The water outage will also affect Paddy Run Road and Bunker Hill Road.

Area residents may experience low water pressure during the repair work. Construction crews anticipate the repairs to be complete and water restored by approximately 6:30pm.

The road is open to traffic; however, motorists are advised to practice caution when approaching a work zone area.

With over seventeen percent of Clarksville residents living below the poverty level, hunger and food insecurity are a harsh reality for many people in our community.

That means that hundreds of working adults, children and seniors in our community struggle with hunger every day. Food insecurity refers to the availability of food and access to it. Those who are considered food insecure do not know when they will have their next meal.

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has closed E Street from Beech Street to Market Street including the E Street and Locust Street intersection to repair a water main leak. Motorists are advised to use Chapel Street and North Ford for access to E Street.

A water outage is also in affect for this section of E Street until approximately 2:00pm when repairs are anticipated to be complete and water restored.
