The match kicks off the season for both the Lady Govs and the Mocs, as well as the second campaign for Austin Peay head coach Ross Brown. One early-season objective for Brown will be finding a replacement for departed No. 1 Alison Carre.

Senior Andra Cornea and junior Ornella Di Salvo return from strong 2013 campaigns; the pair were Austin Peay’s representatives at October’s ITA Regionals in Memphis.

Newcomers Isabela Jovanovic and Hannah Tatlock also will appear in their first matches as members of the Austin Peay side; both joined the Lady Govs following the Christmas break.

Chattanooga returns five of its top six players from last season’s 18-6 squad that finished fifth in the Southern Conference. Included in those 18 wins was a 7-0 victory against Austin Peay, February 8th, 2013. Sophomore Kelsey Coots returns after earning second-team All-SoCon honors at the No. 5 position last season.

The Lady Govs look to pick up their first victory against the Mocs since February 2010, a 4-3 home win.

Austin Peay continues a busy first week of play when the Lady Govs host Northern Kentucky in a Friday evening tilt.
