Richview Lady Cowboys Charge Past Kenwood Lady Knights 33-28 to win Middle School Basketball Tournament

Richview Middle SchoolClarksville TN – The Richview Lady Cowboys were the last team standing in the Girls side of the Middle School Basketball Tournament at West Creek Middle School. They defeated the Kenwood Lady Knights, 33-28, in the Championship Game Thursday, January 30th.

The two teams battled to a 26-26 tie in the fourth period. Then, Richview’s Brittney Hudson made back-to-back baskets as part of a 6-0 run to give the Lady Cowboys a 32-26 lead. The Lady Knights scored only two more points the rest of the game.

Missed opportunities at the free throw line helped the game slip away from the Lady Knights. They coverted only 1-of-8 from the stripe in the fourth period.

Five different Richview players scored in the game. Hudson and Sarah McClellan both scored 10 points. Shanice Kimble was the lead scorer for the Lady Knights with 9 points.

In addition to earning first place in the tournament with their team, Hudson and McClellan were both named to the All-Tournament Team.

Before the Championship game, the Northeast Lady Eagles scored 19 points in the last period to come from behind and defeat the Montgomery Central Lady Indians, 34-22, and earn third place in the tournament.

Anna Boyle led the charge for the soaring Lady Eagles with 12 points. Kimien Carter added 10. Lindsey Lafferty was the lead scorer for the Lady Indians with 7 points.

Both teams started slow. However, 11 points in the third period put the Lady Indians ahead 20-15. In the fourth period, the Lady Indians went ice cold while the Eagles got hot. The Eagles outscored the Lady Indians 19-2 in the last period.
