Convenient Car Care Inc. hosts successful coat and blanket drive for Room in the Inn, and donates $4,000 to Manna Cafe

Valvoline Instant Oil ChangeClarksville, TN – It’s been a brutally cold winter in Clarksville, and with the prospects of more winter weather, the need to help those less fortunate becomes critical.

Convenient Car Care Inc., owners and operators of the Valvoline Instant Oil Change franchise, stepped up their game in the month of January by offering to collect winter coats and blankets for Room in the Inn, and raise money for Manna Cafe.  Both organizations work with the people in our community who need our help the most, the homeless.

Valvoline set up collection boxes at each of their 7 Clarksville locations, and when citizens brought their donation, then Valvoline offered $5.00 off the cost of their oil change.

Then each customer was asked if they would like to make a cash donation to Manna Cafe, most of whom donated their $5.00 discount.  At the end of the campaign and with a little help from Valvoline, $4,000 was raised for the group. Valvoline also collected over 200 coats and blankets.

According to Convenient Car Care Inc. President, Candace Ursery, “We want to do whatever we can to give back to our community.  This community has been good to us, and we think it’s unthinkable that their are so many people who go without, especially those who are homeless and hungry.”

“We were just thrilled at the response,” said Ursery.  “We had no idea that so many people would help support our effort.”

Room in the Inn is located on Golf Club Lane and provides a warm shelter for those who need it, while Manna Cafe has a very ambitious campaign to feed the homeless.  They provide hot meals at various Clarksville locations most every day of the week.

Kenny York of Manna Cafe said his organization was very grateful for the effort of the Valvoline stores.

“We depend on the generosity of our community, and Candace and her people really came through.  I can’t tell you how much we needed that donation and what it means to be able to help so many people.”

Room in the Inn is located on Golf Club Lane in Clarksville.
