The partnership between two of Clarksville’s largest employers – Austin Peay and Gateway both home to more than 1,100 employees –  kicks off with employees of Gateway being honored guests during the evening’s basketball game.

Gateway staff members can enjoy hospitality while taking in academic recognition that includes 174 Austin Peay student-athletes named to the Fall 2013 Athletics Director’s Honor Roll.

Also taking place during the evening is a special presentation by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee to a pair of soldiers from Fort Campbell’s Warrior Transition Battalion. The Committee is hosting a $10.00 dinner prior to the game as a fundraiser to send the soldiers and their families on an all-expense paid trip to the 2014 Ohio Valley Conference Basketball Tournament.

Gateway Medical Center is no stranger to community service with long tradition of civic responsibility through programs like the YMCA’s After Breast Cancer program, the March of Dimes’ Best of Clarksville and the American Cancer Society’s Relay for life.

Gateway is one of the busiest community hospitals in the region, with  9,802 admissions, 1,902 babies born and more than 63,000 emergency visits in 2013. In addition, Gateway was awarded a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by the Joint Commission in 2012 and also boasts a wide array of other recognitions including being an Accredited Chest Pain Center.
