Austin Peay hits the road quickly after its date with the Salukis, because the Govs also face Lipscomb in Nashville, 5:00pm, February 15th.

The Govs are out to a 2-0 start thanks to strong play from its veteran top-three. Senior Jasmin Ademovic and junior Aleksas Tverijonas are 2-0 at singles, while juniors Dimitar Ristovski and Iago Seffrin are unbeaten through two matches at doubles.

However, last time out it was sophomore Evan Borowski who was the day’s hero, clinching Austin Peay’s victory against Chattanooga with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-5 victory at No. 6 singles.

The Salukis were Missouri Valley Conference semifinalists last season but have struggled to a 1-4 start this season. 2013 All-MVC selection Jonny Rigby has taken over at No. 1 singles and is off to a 3-1 start.

Lipscomb is out to a 1-2 start, with a win against North Alabama sandwiched between losses to Vanderbilt and Marquette. Freshman Rob Mitchell is undefeated in three matches at No. 3 singles under first-year head coach Mario Hernandez.

The Govs faced both these squads in 2013, falling 4-3 to the Salukis on February 2nd, 2013 and winning a tightly-contested 4-3 battle against the Bisons, March 5th. Tverijonas won matches against Rafael Cuadrillero (SIU) and Stuart Tierney (LU) at No. 4 singles and potentially could face rematches with both those opponents when the Govs renew their rivalries with these squads in 2014.

The Govs play two again next weekend, hosting Western Kentucky (1:30pm, February 21st) and traveling to Southern Indiana (6:00pm, February 22nd), with Ohio Valley Conference play beginning March 15th.
