Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball team will play five games this weekend in its final in-season tournament, Friday-Sunday, when it participates in the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga’s Frost Classic.

Frost Stadium and Warner Park will host 25 games total over the three-day event.
Austin Peay (2-8) will open play on Friday versus Ohio (8-0) at 10:00am, followed by an afternoon contest versus Radford (1-0) at 3:00pm.
Saturday will see the Lady Govs play two afternoon games, facing Campbell (5-4) at 12:30pm and Toledo (1-4) at 3:00pm.
The Lady Govs conclude the tournament on Sunday, 10:00am, by facing Butler (2-6).
Austin Peay holds 1-0 advantages all-time versus Radford and Toledo, while the Lady Govs are 0-4 versus Butler. It will be first-ever meetings for Austin Peay versus Ohio and Campbell.
Austin Peay is led offensively by senior Lauren de Castro, who enters the weekend hitting an even .300 with a double and a home run. Sophomore Mel Pavel leads the team in RBIs with six, while Kayla Davidson tops the Lady Govs with five runs scored.
In the circle, de Castro was both of the Lady Govs victories so far this season and is 2-3 overall, with a 7.77 ERA and eight strikeouts in 24.1 innings of work.
