With just two games remaining, Austin Peay finds itself in need of positive outcomes against the Colonels and UT Martin or for Morehead State, SIU Edwardsville and Southeast Missouri to suffer losses down the stretch in order to gain admittance to the OVC Tournament.

While Austin Peay has the edge entering the weekend, both Morehead State and Southeast Missouri have three games to play, with the Lady Govs down to their final two.

The Colonels lead the OVC in scoring defense at 65.5 points per game and allow a conference-low 37.6 percent shooting from the field. Senior Marie Carpenter is averaging 21.6 points per contest, ranking second in the OVC in three-point field goals made per game (3.0) and three-point field goal percentage (41.7 percent).

Saturday’s contest will be Austin Peay’s only battle against Eastern Kentucky this season. The Colonels have been pitted against Belmont all season for top spot in the OVC East, sitting a half-game behind the Bruins entering the weekend. The Lady Govs would need to snap a three-game losing streak against OVC East Division foes to knock off the Colonels.
