Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team travels to Gape Girardeau Thursday to take on the Southeast Missouri Redhawks. Tip off is at 7:00pm.
Austin Peay can control its own destiny gaining win this weekend, starting with the Southeast Missouri game. If SEMO wins, the Redhawks are in the tournament.The Redhawks come in a 15-13 overall and 6-8 in the OVC.

APSU comes in amidst a three-game losing streak, including a 96-75 loss to Eastern Kentucky in a contest the Govs shot an impressive 58 percent from the floor but permitted 17 three pointers.
Travis Betran has scored 20 or more points in three of the last four games, including 23 against Eastern Kentucky.
Junior wing Ed Dyson made it seven straight double-figure scoring games with 13 points against EKU while also leading APSU in rebounding with six.
Southeast Missouri Redhawks
Southeast Missouri enters the game on a two-game winning streak after Antonius Cleveland banked in a three-pointer from mid-court to the Redhawks a 77-74 win at UT Martin, Saturday.
The one-two punch of cousins Jarekious Bradley (19.3 ppg) and Tyler Stone (19.1 ppg) pace the Redhawk attack. Stone was the OVC Preseason Player of the Year.
The Redhawks are out-rebounding the opposition 36.3 to 32.4 during OVC play.
The Series
The Govs won this season’s earlier meeting, January 4th, with an 80-74 victory in Clarksville. Chris Horton had 21 points and 12 rebounds for the Govs while Jarekious Bradley had 30 for SEMO to lead all scorers.
What A Win Would Mean
It would make the Governors 12-17 heading into Saturday’s regular-season finale at UT Martin…it would make the Govs 6-9 in the OVC… it would make the Govs 6-9 in 2014…the Govs would end Feburary with a 3-4 record… the Govs would improved to 3-10 on the road…they would go to 2-5 on the road in OVC play…they would improve the overall series record 34-18 against Southeast Missouri…it would make Dave Loos 34-18 all-time against SEMO…it would make Loos 10-4 all-time against SEMO coach Dicky Nutt…it would be Dave Loos’ 466th career victory.
Unique Stat
In losing to Eastern Kentucky, Saturday, the Govs connected on 29 of 50 (58 percent) from the floor. It was highest field goal percentage in a Govs loss since APSU shot 30 of 51 (58.8 percent) against Tennessee State, January 29th, 2000.
High Percentage Govs
The 29-of-50 shooting (58 percent) against Eastern Kentucky was the 15th time this season the Governors have shot 50 percent or better from the field.
Stepping Up
Travis Betran’s 23 points against Eastern Kentucky was the ninth time this season he has scored 20 or more points and third time in the last four games. In fact, over the last four games, senior guard Travis Betran has converted 28 of 31 free throws.
