The two-day, 54-hole (36 holes Monday, 18 Tuesday) women’s portion of the tournament will be played on the par-71, 5,804-yard Highlands Course that features five par-5 and six par-3 holes.

The 13-team tourney, including the Lady Govs, will feature host Tennessee Tech along with fellow Ohio Valley Conference schools Eastern Kentucky, Belmont, Murray State and Tennessee State. Northern Kentucky will enter two teams while Presbyterian, West Georgia, Indiana State and Marshall also will be there.

The Lady Govs are coming off a 13th-place finish in their spring-opening tournament in Jacksonville, FL, the UNF Intercollegiate. Battling weather conditions during January and February that hampered their preparation, the Lady Govs lack of preseason course time showed as they failed to see a sub-80 round shot in the tourney.

The Lady Govs will feature seniors Rachel Deaton and Tala Mumford, junior Jessica Cathey and the two freshman, Morgan Kauffman and Morgan Gardner. Junior Meghan Mueller and freshman Amber Bosworth will play as individuals.

“We have had a few great days of practice and were able to take advantage of a great day and play Sevierville Golf Club, Saturday,” APSU coach Sara Robson said. “The girls are making the necessary adjustments and I look for them to play well this week.”
