Austin Peay upended Jacksonville State, 5-2, with senior Jasmin Ademovic earning co-OVC Player of the Week honors for his efforts. The Govs’ Sunday contest against Tennessee Tech was postponed due to weather and rescheduled for March 27th.

Austin Peay stands at 6-2 on the year, the top overall mark in the OVC. Junior Aleksas Tverijonas is the only unbeaten still standing in the OVC singles race, carrying an 8-0 mark into Thursday’s contest. Juniors Dimitar Ristovski and Iago Seffrin are one of two unbeaten doubles duos with an 8-0 mark.

The Blue Raiders are 4-9 on the season, but own wins against OVC foes Tennessee State (7-0, February 16th) and Murray State (6-0, March 9th). Middle Tennessee has remained a solid squad despite missing senior Ben Davis thanks in part to Victor Cornea and David Fox; the duo ranks 43rd in the ITA doubles rankings.  Ettore Zito is 8-4 overall and has established himself as the Blue Raiders top option in singles play.

The Govs have not squared off against Middle Tennessee since the 2010 season, when the Blue Raiders escaped with a 4-3 win. Ademovic, then a freshman, got the win at No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles, but Austin Peay dropped the 3-through-6 singles matches in the loss.

Austin Peay returns to the OVC fray this weekend with contests at Belmont (10:00am, Saturday) and at home against Tennessee State (11:00am, Sunday).
