Washington, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reports Portable Electric Heaters are being recalled by Dyson Inc. because the heaters can short and overheat causing a potential fire hazard.
Consumers should stop using this product unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Cunningham, TN – The hot bats of August Rodenbaber and Rachel Nelson drove the Montgomery Central Lady Indians softball team to a 7-4 victory at home against the West Creek Lady Coyotes Wednesday, April 2nd.
Rodenbaber and Nelson combined to bring in all seven of the Lady Indians runs.
Rodenbaber went 3-for-3 at the plate, hitting 3 RBI doubles in the game. Her last double brought in two runs. Nelson batted 2-for-3 with an RBI single and an RBI triple. Her last at bat was a sac fly that brought in another run.

Clarksville, TN – National Tilted Kilt Calendar Girl Alicia Vaillencourt will host a calendar signing with free calendars while they last at Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery this Thursday, April 3rd from 6:00pm-9:00pm.
Alicia is a Clarksville native who was chosen from over 700 applicants across the country to be on the 2014 calendar, which was shot in Valencia and Oxnard, California.

Brentwood, TN – Austin Peay State University senior golfer Marco Iten, who finished second this week at the Memphis Intercollegiate, has been named Ohio Valley Conference adidas® Male Golfer of the Week.
It was the second time this spring Iten earned the award. Two weeks ago he claimed the weekly award by capturing the Talis Park Challenge.

Nashville, TN – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has selected Trevecca Nazarene University freshman golfer Alexa Rippy as the March 2014 G-MAC Women’s Golf Athlete of the Month.
The Rossview High School (Clarksville, Tennessee) product had two outstanding finishes in March.
Rippy equaled her career best with a round of 75 to finish second at the Tennessee State University Big Blue Invitational.

Clarksville, TN – On Friday, April 4th, the Kenwood High School Boys and Girls Tennis teams will be holding a fundraising event call “Zumbathon” from 5:30pm-6:30pm. Tickets are $5.00. All donations are welcomed and accepted.
The event will be held in the Kenwood High cafeteria. Everyone at the event will be participating in a Zumba Fitness class conducted by Zumba Fitness certified trainers. There will be no food provided, but water will be for sale.
