The Govs 4-2 OVC mark places them third, a half-game behind Jacksonville State for one of two coveted first-round byes.

Morehead State is fourth in the OVC with a 3-2 conference mark (7-5 overall), while the Colonels find themselves on the low end of the conference spectrum at 2-4 in league play (8-9 overall).

Junior Dimitar Ristovski needs just one win for his third consecutive double-digit win tally, posting a 9-3 mark entering the weekend. Aleksas Tverijonas already has reached that plateau, with a 13-1 mark.

Iago SeffrinIago Seffrin has been the hottest Gov of late; the junior Brazilian has won five straight at No. 4 singles, while his No. 2 doubles pairing with Ristovski has produced eight wins in the last 10 outings.

Although owning a spot in the lower half of the Morehead State lineup, senior David Clifford has been the Eagles most consistent performer at 9-3 overall, doing most of his damage at No. 5 with a 9-1 mark. The three-through-six players have posted a 23-13 mark this season.

Dimitar RistovskiThe Govs knocked off Eastern Kentucky in the OVC Tournament semifinals last season en route to Austin Peay’s first men’s tennis championship since 1974. Alex Alvaro, the 2013 OVC Freshman of the Year, is 7-9 overall this spring, winning just four of his last 10 matches.

Austin Peay took two from Eastern Kentucky and defeated Morehead State in 2013. The Govs last loss to the Colonels was a 4-2 defeat in the 2012 OVC Tournament first round, and are unbeaten against Morehead State since 2010.

Austin Peay concludes OVC play at Murray State, next Thursday, before squaring off with Louisville in its final tune-up before the start of the OVC Tournament, April 17th-19th in Paducah, KY.
