Rossview High baseball rallies to beat Clarksville High 9-8 handing Wildcats their first District 10-AAA loss

Rossview High School HawksClarksville, TN – Down 8-4 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning, Rossview High’s baseball rallied to force extra innings, April 9th, on it was to handing Clarksville High School its first District 10-AAA loss of the season 9-8, in eight innings.

Rossview (10-8, 6-2 District 10-AAA) got the rally going by scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to cut the deficit to 8-7 against Wildcats relief pitcher Nolen Milton, who came in for starter Ben Bleyle – who gave up four runs to the Hawks in the first inning.

Milton, who despite striking out nine in five and a third innings of work, was also charged with the tying run in the bottom of the seventh inning before being relieved by Luke Chilcutt.

Blake Kiely — who got the win after working three innings of relief for Rossview — held the Wildcats (15-3, 7-1 District 10-AAA) in check in the top of the eighth inning, while the Hawks offense was able to push across a run in the bottom of the inning against Chilcutt for the come-from-behind victory.

Bradley Wilson led Rossview with three hits – including a home run and a double – driving in two and scoring a run.

Blake Williams and Dillon Johnson had two hits each for the Hawks, while Austin Davis had a double and two RBI.

Clarksville High was led by Landon Mosteller, Donny Everrett and Chilcutt, who recorded three hits each, while Gabe Bowling smacked a home run in a losing effort.

Clarksville High returns to action April 10th in the William Workman Tournament, hosting Montgomery Central High School at 6:30pm.

Rossview’s next game will also be in the Workman Tournament on Friday, 4:00pm, at home versus Tullahoma High School.
