With just two OVC wins entering the regular season’s last weekend, the Lady Govs must win and then hope for some luck to keep their season alive.

Eager to snap a five-match losing streak, the Lady Govs could use some early relief in doubles, where they seek their first point since March 1st.

Freshman Hannah Tatlock has been one bright spot in singles play during this recent rough patch. She’s won three of her last five matches and is not only tied for the team lead with eight spring victories, she as well is the only Lady Gov with a winning record during the spring.

Both Southeast Missouri and UT Martin are part of the logjam ahead of the Lady Govs in the OVC standings. The Skyhawks enter play at 7-9 (4-4 OVC) and are led by Hitomi Naito, who owns a 13-3 record and has won 11 in a row entering the weekend.

Southeast Missouri (9-10, 3-5 OVC) has a unique lineup quirk – the even-numbered slots (2, 4 and 6) are a combined 36-20, while the odds are just 21-36. Melissa Martin, winner of four in a row, is 12-5 on the year operating primarily out of the No. 6 slot.

The OVC Tournament Championships the Lady Govs are attempting to qualify for get under way Thursday, April 17th, at Heflin Tennis Center in Paducah, KY.
