Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds won their series opener against the Iowa Cubs Friday night at Greer Stadium, edging the visitors by a 4-3 margin. The win is Nashville’s fourth consecutive; the team’s longest win streak of the season.
Milwaukee Brewers top prospect Jimmy Nelson (4-1) guided the Sounds defensively from the hill, retiring his first 12 batters before running into a bases-loaded jam in the fifth inning. He surrendered his first hit to Lars Anderson, a single, and walked a pair to load the bases.

Introduced and organized by Bill and Joan Farmer, this year’s dinner is anticipated to be another with record attendance. Clarksville, TN – Beginning next Tuesday, May 6th, 2014, the Clarksville Parking Authority will begin installation of new parking meters which will result in several new parking options for downtown visitors.

Clarksville, TN – On April 29th, 2014 at 12:36am, the Clarksville Police Department responded to a hold up at the BP on Fort Campbell Boulevard.
A black male suspect entered the business through the North side door, brandished a black handgun and demanded money. After taking the money he went out the North side door and fled on foot towards Ashbury Road.

Clarksville, TN – The 20th annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament is just a week away.
This year’s edition, which will be held Saturday, May 10th, at Kentucky Lake, with registration and boat launching from Paris Landing, Tennessee, State Park, promises to be more accessible for entrants and families alike.
Last May entrants were forced to use the back entrance because of flooding. Despite that obstacle, the tourney drew 282 boats — 14 more than in 2012.

Fort Campbell, KY – Soldiers, Veterans, Families and friends alike, looked on with heavy hearts as the colors of the 4th Brigade Combat Team “Currahee”, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), furled in the wind one last time.
As part of the U.S. Army’s Brigade Combat Team 2020 Model, the 4th BCT, 101st Abn. Div., cased their colors during an inactivation ceremony, April 25th, 2014, at the division parade field.
