The Memphis native won her first gold medal in the 400m with a season-best 54.08 run to remain unbeaten in four 400m dash events this season. She outdueled Tennessee State’s Ashontae Jackson – the 2014 Indoor 400m champion – for gold in the outdoor event.

Jones ran legs in both the 4x100m and 4x400m relay events that earned silver, bringing her career medal tally to six (one gold, four silver, one bronze). The 45.28 4x100m run was a school record, with the 3:41.21 4x400m mark less than two-tenths of second away from a record-breaking time.

With two meets remaining before NCAA East Preliminaries, Jones ranks 40th regionally in the 400m dash, while the 4x100m and 4x400m teams ranks 46th and 69th, respectively.

The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Tuesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.
