Memphis, TN – Austin Peay State University alumnus Grant Leaver qualified for the 2014 FedEx St. Jude Classic, but failed to make the cut after two rain-soaked rounds at TPC Southwind, Friday.
He opened the tournament with a two-over 72, Thursday, followed by another 72 in a round started Friday but finished Saturday morning. His four-over 144 missed the cut that was set at even par.
It is the second time in four seasons Leaver has qualified for the PGA’s Memphis tour stop. He shot a 71-71–142 and missed the cut by one shot in the 2010 FedEx St. Jude Classic. Last season, he played on the NGA Pro Golf Tour and finished 48th on the money list.
