Everything in the community that could peak the interest of a potential prospect, from the Corporate Business Park and Clarksville Marina, to Austin Peay State University and the Wilma Rudolph retail corridor, was on display during the tour.

Available land, infrastructure, qualified workforce and education opportunities that the community has strategically made available were also touted.

“The annual Red Carpet event has proven to be one of the most effective ways our team at the IDB can engage consultants who may not be familiar with the available resources in our community,” said Clarksville-Montgomery County IDB Executive Director, Mike Evans. “It also serves as a unique way to say ‘thank you’ by including our partners who make the work of our team possible.”

The evening before the community tour, VIP guests were treated to an exclusive reception, featuring award-winning songwriter, Rivers Rutherford. As in the years past, the Red Carpet event included both site selection consultants as well as company representatives from organizations such as Global Location Strategies, Garner Economics, KPMG, MCS Strategies, SSOE and McCallum Sweeney.

Along with the honored guests, members of the IDB and Aspire Boards, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), State of Tennessee Economic and Community Development (ECD), RJ Corman Railroad Group, and local elected officials were on hand at the reception to network with these potential clients and help tell the story of the ever-growing Clarksville-Montgomery County community.

“The Red Carpet tour gives our community guests an opportunity to network in a relaxed environment and enjoy Southern culture that can only be found in Middle Tennessee,” said Wally Crow, incoming chairman for the Clarksville-Montgomery County IDB. “We have assets in Clarksville-Montgomery County that are like nothing else in this region. That, coupled with the nationally-recognized Nashville nightlife and music scene, makes for a metro area that is competitive in both industrial landscape and quality of life.”

The two-day Red Carpet event was topped off with tickets to the CMT Awards show that was held at Bridgestone Arena on June 4th.

“Through the generous funding of the Aspire Foundation, the consultants were able to experience the sites and sounds of the region and take back with them the understanding of the multitude of assets that Clarksville-Montgomery County has to offer an incoming industry,” said Clarksville-Montgomery County Economic Development Council and Aspire Foundation Executive Director, Cal Wray.
