After the ribbon cutting, Certified Paraoptometric Technician Lisa Fehser, who led the changes explained some of the additional conservation initiatives they had taken in their Clarksville office. “We are thrilled to be the first vision center in Clarksville to become CMC Green Certified. The staff has been so devoted to reducing, reusing and recycling at our new location that we do not even have a dumpster, so minimal trash bill. This is even more significant considering we are in a larger building and have more patients now.”

Mayor Bowers commented, “That is encouraging and I know Bi-County appreciates your commitment to keep items out of the landfill. We appreciate all that you are doing.”

Fesher added, “We also reuse the packaging material that is sent to us when items are ordered at our office. Since we are reusing the packaging to send orders out, we no longer spend added time or expense ordering extra shipping materials.

Sango Eye Care has occupancy sensors installed in some of their rooms, adjusts thermostats after hours and encourages employees to shut down computers in the evening, all to conserve energy.

Mayor McMillan asked Fehser and Doctor’s Bart Lynn and Adam York if they felt it had made a difference in the habits of the employees. Dr. Lynn answered, “Yes, I definitely think it has made a difference he mused, they bring their recycling here to our mini-convenience center.” Dr. Adam York added, “We are also making an effort to use less paper. Patient records are all electronic. New patients have the option to fill out forms online, we send out e-prescriptions and we send appointment reminders electronically.”

Sango Eye Care has been a leading provider of optometry services and vision care products in the Clarksville community since 1973. Optometrists Bart Lynn, Adam York and Gary Radish offer comprehensive vision examinations at their Clarksville optometry office and specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide array of eye diseases, conditions and problems. Sango Eye Care is located at 2699 Townsend Court.
