Nashville Takes Opener, But Falls In Nightcap
Oklahoma City, OK – The first-place Nashville Sounds (52-48) split a doubleheader with the Oklahoma City RedHawks Friday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, winning the opener 7-6 before falling in the nightcap by a 9-7 margin.
In the opener, the Sounds survived a late surge from the RedHawks to hold on for a 7-6 victory.
Leading by one run with one out in the 7th inning, the Sounds allowed Oklahoma City a pair of runners in scoring position; but closer Jeremy Jeffress settled in to fire a strikeout and induce a groundout to end the threat and pick up his fifth save of the season.

Clarksville, TN – The Northwest Big League Baseball team, ages 15-18, won the state tournament in Blountville, Tennessee. Northwest defeated East Nashville 4 -2 in the opener before falling to Blountville 6-5 to drop into the loser bracket.
With their backs against the wall, Northwest responded with an 11–4 win over East Nashville and two wins against Blountville by the same score of 11-0 to win the Tennessee State Championship for the 5th consecutive year.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Movies in the Park features ‘Grease’ at Liberty Park July 26th, 2014
Clarksville, TN – Movies in the Park, the City of Clarksville’s free, outdoor movie series, continues Saturday, July 26th, and will be switching locations to Liberty Park, 1190 Cumberland Drive, Clarksville, for the rest of the season.
‘Grease,’ rated PG will be shown at approximately 8:15pm (dependent on sunset). Activities begin at 7:15pm and include karaoke with Clarksville Parks and Recreation and soccer demonstrations with the Clarksville Soccer Club.
Fans Encouraged To Bring Their Dogs To Greer Stadium
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds host a “Bark In The Park” promotion on Sunday, August 10th, giving fans a chance to bring their favorite pooch to the ballpark for the first time since 2004.
The event, which will occur before and during the Sounds’ 6:35pm game against the Round Rock Express, is presented in partnership with the Nashville Humane Association.

Clarksville, TN – Kenny York, Founder and Director of Manna Café Ministries, will be spending the next two weeks as a homeless man in an effort to bring increased awareness and compassion for the homeless. He and the Manna Café team are increasing their efforts to launch a full-time transitional shelter in Clarksville, even though homelessness is “a silent epidemic” in this fast-growing community. This is part four of his adventure.

Goodlettsville, TN – Playing its best game at the Little League State Tournament so far, July 17th at Moss-Wright Park, Clarksville Nationals 9-10 year-old baseball team earned a spot in the state semifinals with an 8-2 victory versus Goodlettsville American.
Clarksville National got a great combined pitching performance from Ryan Murphy, Scotty Carter and Connor Doughty, as the trio limited the Goodlettsville squad to just three hits – with only one coming after the first inning.
