Clarksville, TN – Registration for the 8th Annual Riverfest Regatta is underway! Participants can enter as a group (up to 8 people per entry) or as an individual.
The Riverfest Regatta is not your typical boat race. The boats racing down the Cumberland River Saturday morning, September 6th, will be made of cardboard or plastic bottles and a few other approved materials.
Not only will teams be racing for bragging rights, but trophies will also be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place teams in each division.Competition will be in four divisions: Adult Open, Business and Industry, Church/Civic, and City Department.
Contestants may pre-register by downloading this form or registering online here. The completed form can be mailed or submitted in person at our Main Office (102 Public Square, Clarksville, TN 37040).
Approved Materials Bottle Boats:
- Any bottle up to 1 gallon in size
- Duct Tape
- Construction Adhesive
- Rope less than ½ “ thick
Cardboard Boats:
- Cardboard (Tubes are ALLOWED)
- Duct Tape
- Silicone Sealant
- Construction Adhesive
- Paint
The Competition
Boats will run heats. Each division will be run separately with the quickest time being declared the winner.
Prior to the race, boats will also be judged for the following awards:
Titanic Award – best sinking of a boat
Ship Shape Award – best boat design
Cardboard Queen Award – prettiest boat
Team Attire Award – most creative costumes
Team Unity Award – most spirited and organized team

Don’t miss the spectacle! Everyone is invited to watch as groups attempt to paddle their cardboard or plastic bottle boats to the finish line on the Cumberland River at 11:00am Saturday, September 6th, at McGregor Park’s courtesy boat dock.
