Cunningham, TN – Circuit Court Judge Part III candidate Ben Dean gave a speech on Saturday, July 27th, 2014, at the 106th Annual Lone Oak Picnic held by the Central Civitan Club.
“We need change in this court. We have got a crime epidemic in Montgomery County and Robertson County,” stated Dean. “We got some of the finest best trained law enforcement in both counties. What we got a problem with is a court that is creating a revolving door for people getting in trouble over and over again.”

First-Place Sounds Take Series Opener Against Division-Rival Z’s
Metairie, LA – Pitcher Michael Blazek tossed 5 2/3 scoreless innings and accounted for three of Nashville’s four runs scored in the Sounds’ 4-2 victory over New Orleans on Saturday evening at Zephyr Field in the opener of a four-game series.
With the victory, the Sounds (62-53) maintained their two-game lead in the PCL American Conference Southern Division.
Clarksville, TN – David Edmondson posted an opening-round of two-under 69, August 2nd at Swan Lake Golf Course, to lead the Senior Clarksville City Amateur by a stroke.
Edmondson was two-under at the turn, with three birdies and one bogey, and played the backside at even par – including a birdie on the 18th hole to hold the one-stroke lead.
“I got a lot of break today, but I felt pretty good about everything,” Edmondson said. “I only missed two greens and made a lot of putts.
Fort Campbell, KY – Youth, ages 6 to 18, are invited to participate in the Fort Campbell Youth Triathlon on Saturday, August 16th.
The event will begin at Gardner Pool, located at 2191 Tennessee Avenue with check in from 7:30am to 8:15am. The safety briefing will be at 8:30am.
Children who are ages four and five may participate in the Eaglets Run, beginning at 8:45am. The Youth Triathlon will begin at 9:00am. Strollers will be allowed on the bike and run courses if parents want to go alongside their children.

“Let me tell you alittle about myself. I am 55 years old. I have been married to my wife 35 years. I have to adult children who are in their 30’s at this time,” said Brollier. “Before becoming a lawyer, I worked in construction. I built swimming pools, dug ditches and worked on insulation in attics. I know what hard work is all about.”
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office officials hope to continue training other agencies in active shooting
Montgomery County, TN – Investigator Jeff Morlock and Deputy Chris Montjoy of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office recently taught members of several law enforcement agencies in response to active shooters.
“The Sheriff (John Fuson) sent us to a ‘Train the Trainer’ course put on by ALERRT so we could host training here for our law enforcement partners in the area,” Morlock said. “He believes it is vitally important that all agencies are on the same page when responding to an active shooter situation.”

“Thank each of you for spending part of you day here today,” said Goodman. “I lived in this district my entire life. I grew up in Cedar Hill which is located between Springfield and Guthrie. I intended law school in the state of Alabama at Samford University. It was there that I met my wife. We returned back to this community in 1977. This has been our home since that time.”
Brentwood, TN – Ninety-five Austin Peay State University student-athletes were recognized on the Ohio Valley Conference’s Commissioner’s Honor Roll for their academic achievements during the 2013-14 academic year. That total included 15 student-athletes who received the league’s Academic Medal of Honor.

“I have been a criminal lawyer for 20 some years. I have been judge in Coopertown for 6 years,” stated Dyer. “The seat I’m running for now right now is Judge Jones. That man is retiring him. God bless him, he’s earned it.”
