Indiana State was runner-up in the Missouri Valley Conference in 2013, advancing to the MVC Championship match for the second season in a row.

The Sycamores won a program-best 10 matches and return All-MVC first-team midfielder Kate Johnson from last season’s squad.

Kentucky finished fifth in the SEC last season with a 14-7-1 record (7-4-0 SEC), bowing out to Mississippi – whom the Lady Govs will face September 12th at Morgan Brothers Field – in the SEC Tournament’s second round. Arin Gilliland, recently named to the MAC Herrmann Trophy Watch List, was an NSCAA All-American in 2013 and spent July in camp with the United States Women’s National Under-23 team.

The Lady Govs replace a pair of internationally-renowned players in Tatiana and Natalia Ariza, but return a wealth of talent from 2013. Ohio Valley Conference All-Newcomer selection Gina Fabbro returns for her sophomore campaign, and head coach Kelley Guth will incorporate 10 freshmen into this season’s squad.

After Saturday’s intrasquad scrimmage at Morgan Brothers Field, the Lady Govs are excited to face opposing squads in live action to kick off the preseason slate.

Austin Peay begins regular-season action at Evansville (7:00pm, August 22nd), with the first home date at Morgan Brothers Field slated for 2:00pm, August 24th against Chattanooga.
