APSU Governors Tennis hosts North Alabama in only home competition of fall campaign

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team returns home for its only home match of the fall, noon, Friday, against North Alabama at the Austin Peay Tennis Courts.  The schedule calls for one round of doubles followed by two rounds of singles play.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Youth Basketball League registration ends October 6th

 

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – There’s still time to register your child for this season of Youth Basketball, but you’d better hurry! Registration for the Youth Basketball League will be closing on October 6th.

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Wednesday, October 1st, 2014, the Clarksville Police Department welcomes Cody Deskins, David Hauser, Clay Sheley, Scott Freeman, Ra’shee Showers, Tracy Hughes, Travis Kretz, Thomas McCraw, David Moore, and Ronald Myers to the force.

The New Officers and their families, along with Chief Al Ansley, and other City Officials, gathered at City Hall, while they were sworn in by Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan.

Clarksville Police update on Shots Fired at Apartment on Jack Miller Boulevard

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Wednesday night, September 1st, 2014 at approximately 10:22pm, officers of the Clarksville Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the 100 block of Jack Miller Boulevard.

Upon arrival they made contact with a male subject who had suffered a gunshot wound. The male subject was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died of his injuries. The victim has been identified as 30 year old Joshua Simpson of Clarksville.

This is an ongoing investigation and the Clarksville Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact Detective Chris Nolder with the Clarksville Police Department Homicide Unit (931.648.0656 ext. 5341) or the TIPS line at 931.645.TIPS.

Austin Peay State University Art to be showcased at Acuff Circle’s Soiree on Franklin, October 28th

 

Acuff Circle of ExcellenceClarksville, TN – The arts at Austin Peay State University will be on display and celebrated at the annual Soiree on Franklin the afternoon of October 28th.

The event, in its fifth year, is sponsored by the Acuff Circle of Excellence board of directors and is open to members of the Circle and the public. This year’s celebration, “Coming Home to the Arts,” will feature representations of all of APSU’s arts disciplines: music, dance and theatre, creative writing and the visual arts.
