Tennessee Department of Transportation to host “Book a Planner” Public Input Meeting October 28th

Montgomery County TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Government is partnering with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) to host a public input meeting, called a “Book a Planner” meeting, on Thursday, October 28th at 5:00pm, at the William O. Beach Civic Hall, 350 Pageant Lane.

“Book-a-Planner” is an interactive outreach program and presentation, administered through the Long Range Planning Department’s Office of Community Transportation (OCT) staff.

Attendees are able to share their input via live polling to assist TDOT in making sure the community’s future needs are addressed.

We need your input! By 2040, Tennessee is projected to have an additional 2 million people and be the 15th most populous State in the United States.

With this growth will come increased economic and community development challenges as well as issues related to planning and accommodating future demand.

One key challenge will be providing and maintaining the quality transportation system that the traveling public and businesses in Tennessee have come to rely upon. We need your help to ensure that the needs of our community are addressed as we look to the future.

In response to the projected growth and demand, the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) welcomes input in the development of Tennessee’s next 25-Year, Long-Range Multimodal Transportation Plan (LRTP). The Plan will take a look at changes in population, demographics, the economy, technology, land use, departmental policies, and other variables to develop a data-driven roadmap to guide our efforts over the next 25 years.

We hope you will make plans to join us and have input on the future growth of the transportation needs in Montgomery County!
