Landon becomes the first Austin Peay volleyball player to receive Academic All-District® honors since 2004 when Julie Burkhalter received second-team honors.

Landon is the first first-team Academic All-District® honoree since Isabel Canedo in 1992.

The senior from Northridge, California, entered her senior year with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average while majoring in health with a minor in heath science. She received the Ohio Valley Conference’s Medal of Honor, awarded to those student-athletes with the highest GPA in their sport, each of her first three years.

Landon also has been named to the Austin Peay President’s List and Dean’s List each of her six semesters.

On the court, Landon is enjoying the best season of her career. She enters this weekend’s action with 124 kills (1.70 per set) and 39 blocks (0.53 per set) during the season. In conference play, Landon has 65 kills (1.62 per set) and 29 blocks (0.73 per set). She recorded a season-best 11 kills in the Lady Govs three-set victory at Tennessee State, October 17th.

Joining Landon on the Academic All-District 3 team – composed of student athletes from Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia – were Lipscomb senior Lauren Ford, Gardner-Webb senior Heather Feldman, Radford senior Emma Deininger, Duke senior Kelsey Williams, Lipscomb sophomore Kayla Ostrom and North Carolina junior Paige Neuenfeldt.

The 2014 Capital One Academic All-District® teams comprise student-athletes from eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month and announced in early December.
