Austin Peay State University Baseball to resume opening game of Red-Black World Series Thursday

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Due to saving pitchers for later appearances in the five-game set, Game 1 of the Austin Peay Baseball Red-Black World Series ended in a 2-2 extra-inning draw on Wednesday from Raymond C. Hand Park.

However, both teams will pick things up on Thursday at 3:30pm, in the ninth inning to complete the opening game.

Clarksville Police Department releases Alcoholic Beverage Commission Operation results from November 7th, 2014

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On November 7th, 2014  Alcohol Beverage Control  Agents of the Clarksville Police Departments Special Operations Unit conducted operations targeting the sales of alcohol to underage persons.

Compliance Checks were conducted on 18 stores with 13 stores found to be in Compliance and 5 stores being cited for the sales of alcohol to an underage person. Agent Steinlage and Agent Lee are the lead investigators as these operations are ongoing.

APSU Governors Basketball add two St. Louis-area guard prospects during National Signing Day

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team has strengthened its 2015-16 backcourt by adding both a prep point guard and two guard from the St. Louis area.

Zach Glotta, who averaged 15.1 points and 4.5 assists per game as point guard for Fort Zumwalt North High School, and Stephen Harris, who scored 12.5 points per game while shooting 68 percent from the floor for Webster Groves, signed letters of intent Wednesday to play basketball for the Governors.

Manna Café to open Emergency Warming Shelter Thursday, November 13th

The Govs began filling those spots by signing left-handed pitcher Austin Higginbotham, of Gainesville, Georgia, on the opening day of the fall signing period, Wednesday.

Clarksville Gas and Water reschedules Ashland City Road/41A Bypass Lane Closure

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has rescheduled today’s Ashland City Road/US Highway 41A Bypass lane closure to tonight at 11:00pm.

Construction crews will close the northbound lane of Ashland City Road/US Highway 41A Bypass from Riverwood Place to the intersection of Cumberland Drive and Riverside Drive for water main line maintenance.

The work is anticipated to be finished and the lane reopened by approximately 2:00am Thursday, November 13th, 2014.

APSU Lady Govs Golf signs Goodley twins

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – Twin sisters Taylor and Ashton Goodley, a pair of three-time Class 1A Illinois All-State golfers who led their Eldorado High School team to a state runner-up finish this fall, have signed letters of intent to play for Austin Peay State University.

The pair shared the Southern Illinoisan Co-Golfer of the Year honor this fall after leading Eldorado to the conference, sectional and regional championships.

Clarksville Gas and Water reports South Second Street Water Outage and Road Closure

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has turned off water service on South Second Street from Union Street to Crossland Avenue to repair a water main.

The road has also been closed to through traffic and motorists will be detoured to Union Street and Crossland during the work.

Construction crews anticipate the repair to be finished and the water restored and the road reopened by approximately 5:00pm.
