After an initial miss on their first three-point attempt, the ball was batted around with Worlund coming up with the ball in front of the Cheatham County bench, with time running out.

Off balance — and with three Kenwood defenders surrounding her — Worlund heaved a shot at the basket, with the ball banking through the net as the buzzer sounded tying the game 63-63 and forcing an overtime period.

Worlund would lead all scorers with 31 points.

In the overtime period Kenwood never led, as the Lady Cubs went to the free throw line 22 times in the extra period – hitting 11 – in scoring 15 points, while the Lady Knights got two 3s from Analiese Osborne, but only attempted two free throws in OT – hitting one.

Osborne led Kenwood with 19 points.

In the first half, Kenwood got off to a quick start – leading 10-4 after the first 4:21 – but Cheatham County rattled off 10 straight points to close the opening period and holding a 14-10 advantage.

The second eight minutes of play would be dominated by the Lady Knights, as they outscored Cheatham County 26-6.

Johnson would get the quarter started with three-point field goal – the first of four hit by the Lady Knights in the period – as they scored 18 of the first 21 points in the period to take a 28-17 lead on their way to holding a 16-point advantage at intermission, 36-20.

Kenwood still held a 15-point lead midway through the third quarter, 44-29, but Cheatham County started to turn things around over the final four minutes of the quarter – outscoring the Lady Knights 10-2 to cut Kenwood’s lead down to seven points, 46-39, heading into the fourth quarter.

Cheatham County carried its momentum into the final quarter of regulation, cutting the Kenwood lead down to just two points, 48-36, with five minutes left.

Kenwood pushed its lead back out to five points, with just over three minutes left, but Cheatham County followed by scoring seven straight points to take its first lead since early in the second quarter, 57-55.
