Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUChattanooga, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team put a double-digit lead on the board but couldn’t land the win, dropping a 76-65 nonconference decision to Chattanooga, Monday afternoon at McKenzie Arena.

Clarksville Gas and Water reports Story Book Acres Subdivision Water Outage

 

Monday, November 24th, 2014

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has turned off water service in the Story Book Acres subdivision including Storybook Drive, Cinderella Lane, King Cole Drive, Bo Peep Lane and Cricket Lane to repair a water main leak.

Area residents may also experience low water pressure during the work. The repair is anticipated to be finished and the water restored by approximately 12:30pm.

The road is open to traffic.

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUTerre Haute, IN – Shooting a season-low 35 percent from the floor, Austin Peay State University’s basketball team was unable to cease a late Indiana State rally as APSU fell, 61-57, Monday night in second-round preliminary action of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational.

AAA expects Cheapest Thanksgiving Holiday Gas Prices in Five Years

 

AAATampa, FL – When 41.3 million Americans load-up the family vehicle for a Thanksgiving road trip, they are likely to find the cheapest gasoline in five years.

The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded was $2.82 Sunday, 46 cents cheaper than the price on Thanksgiving Day 2013.

“Travelers are thankful to have more money in their pockets due to falling gas prices,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “The good news is gas should continue falling through the rest of the year. Cheaper gasoline has helped boost disposable income and consumer spending, which encourages more people to travel.”

Tennessee Highway Patrol Announces Interstate 40 Challenge for Thanksgiving Holiday

 

Eight state police or highway patrol agencies will increase patrols on I-40 for Thanksgiving

Tennessee Highway Patrol - THPNashville, TN – Tennessee Highway Patrol Colonel Tracy Trott today announced the second annual “Interstate 40 Challenge: The Drive to Zero Fatalities” traffic safety initiative during the Thanksgiving holiday period.

The Interstate 40 Challenge will consist of increased patrols from state police or highway patrol agencies along the I-40 corridor in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, North Carolina and Tennessee. The challenge will take place on the busiest travel days of the Thanksgiving period, specifically from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26 and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30.

Tennessee Titans get rolled by Philadelphia Eagles 43-24

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (2-9) fell to the Philadelphia Eagles (8-3) Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field 43-24. The Titans day got off to a rough start when the Eagle’s Josh Huff took the opening kickoff 107 yards for a touchdown.

On their first drive, Philadelphia scored again on a 4 yard run by Darren Sproles. Later, Cody Parkey connected on a 36 yard field goal which gave the Eagles a 17-0 lead in the 1st quarter. The slow start was something Tennessee just could not overcome.
