2015 Clarksville Dream Factory Duathlon invites you to come out and “Du The Dream”

Visit Clarksville TennesseeClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Dream Factory and Visit Clarksville are excited to announce the second annual “Du the Dream” Duathlon on April 25th, 2015.

The “Du the Dream” Duathlon will be held near Beachaven Vineyards and Winery, 1100 Dunlop Lane, and will consist of a run-bike-run course designed for the whole family. All proceeds will support the Clarksville Chapter of the Dream Factory, the second-largest children’s wish-granting organization in the U.S. Money granted to The Dream Factory funds wishes of children who are not only terminally ill, but also children who suffer with chronic and critical illness. Last year, the event raised over $5,000.

“We are excited to host the “Du the Dream” Duathalon again in 2015,” said CVB Executive Director, Theresa Harrington. “Not only does it help to bring in recreational tourism dollars, but also promotes health and wellness and gives back to an excellent cause that will benefit children here in our community.”

Many people are familiar with the triathlon concept of swim-bike-run. A duathlon is similar, except there is no swim portion. The lack of water is a huge plus for many who may be interested in participating in the multi-sport arena but are not avid swimmers.

Participants at the “Du the Dream” event will run four miles, bike 15.5 miles, and then run an additional two miles. Whether novice or expericed, single-man or relay team, this event is geared for all levels of athlete.

Children aren’t left out of the competition either! The kid’s race is specifically designed for children 10-years-old and younger. Held after the adult duathlon, parents will have the opportunity to compete in the adult course and still cheer on their little one. The kid’s route will be much shorter, with a 400 meter run, one-mile bike and 400 meter run. The adult race begins at 7:00am with the kid’s race following at 10:30am.

Early registration starts at just $40.00 and will increase in price as the event date draws closer. You can register now online at www.duthedream.com

About the Dream Factory

In 1980, The Dream Factory began with one all-volunteer chapter in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. The Dream Factory continues to operate all 38 of its local chapters with over 5000 very dedicated volunteers. These hard-working individuals raise funds within their own communities and then use those funds to grant the dreams of local children.

Because they do not employ people on a local level, 90 percent of all money raised by The Dream Factory is used to grant the dreams of critically and chronically ill children. You can learn more at www.dreamfactoryincclk.org
