APSU Governors Tennis adds two to 2015-16 roster

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – During the early signing period, Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team added a pair of players, Taylor Graalman and Chad Woodham, who will join the squad for the 2015-16 season.

Graalman has earned All-State honors each of the last three seasons and was a state singles semifinalist in 2013 and 2014 for Siegel High School in Murfreesboro, TN under head coach Jeff Martin.

In 2012, Graalman was a doubles state quarterfinalist. The last two seasons he also was named Rutherford County Player of the Year and the Daily News Journal Player of the Year.

“Taylor has extensive USTA experience and is a very solid player,” said APSU head coach Ross Brown. “He moves very well and is a competitor. As he gets stronger he has the potential for significant improvement.”

Woodham, a native of Chattanooga, TN is currently in his senior year at Baylor School where he plays for head coach Ned Caswell. He has earned Best Of Preps honors the last two seasons from the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

“Chad has considerable USTA experience and had great success at the No. 1 singles position for Baylor,” said Brown. “He possesses a very solid game and it is very exciting to have such a tough competitor from the state of Tennessee. He has great potential and should be a solid competitor in match play.”

The spring season opens for the Govs with a January 24th, 2015 match against Chattanooga.
