Empty Bowls of Clarksville received $1,680
Clarksville, TN – Altra Federal Credit Union raised over $21,000 nationally with its Drive Away Hunger Campaign. “Hunger is a very real concern in the communities we serve,” stated Cheryl Dutton, Vice President of Marketing for Altra Federal Credit Union. “Besides the financial contribution achieved by the campaign, Drive Away Hunger also generated awareness of the increasing need our communities face in feeding the hungry.”
Altra donated $10.00 for every car, truck, and motorcycle loan financed through Altra from October 1st through November 30th.Members who matched Altra’s $10.00 donation were rewarded with a rate discount. Members contributed over 30% of the total dollars raised.
Altra partnered with The Hunger Task Force in La Crosse, Wisconsin; Winona Volunteer Services in Winona, Minnesota; Empty Bowls in Clarksville, Tennessee; East Texas Food Bank in Tyler, Texas; and Channel One Regional Food Bank in Rochester, MN. Marketing communications for each recipient organization highlighted hunger statistics in their community to generate awareness of the need.
Altra’s donation of $1,680 to Empty Bowls Clarksville will benefit Loaves and Fishes and Urban Ministries Grace Assistance Food Pantry, two local non-profit organizations dedicated to fighting hunger.
“Altra is playing a pivotal role in supporting our organizations in the fight against eliminating hunger,” said Rita Arancibia, Empty Bowls Clarksville Chair. “The need has never been greater. Many people think that food insecurity is confined to certain areas of the community and neighborhoods, but the real reality is much different. There are many hard-working families in our community who just cannot make ends meet and are forced to go without food. This generous gift from Altra will support local efforts to feed our community.”
Altra presented the check to Empty Bowls Clarksville on December 17th at 4:30pm at Altra’s Office located at 1600 Madison Street.
