The Mocs enter the match with a record of 0-2 having lost last weekend to MTSU (6-1) and No. 6 North Carolina (7-0).

The Governors will be led by a trio of talented seniors.  Aleksas Tverijonas complied a 17-2 record last spring while Dimitar Ristovski finished his 2014 season with a 15-9 record, going undefeated in three matches at the No. 1 position.

Fellow senior Iago Seffrin earned a 9-9 record last spring and along with Tverijonas competed at the ITA All-American tournament this fall. In addition to the seniors, sophomore Manuel Montenegro earned an 8-6 record last spring and advanced to the consolation semifinals of the ITA Ohio Valley Regional tournament this October.

The Mocs return four of their top six players from last season’s 7-14 squad which finished ninth in the Southern Conference. Among those 14 losses was a 4-3 defeat to the Govs, February 1st, 2014. The Mocs are led by senior Pavel Grigorjevs, who went 6-6 last spring in the No. 1 position and junior Luke Saunders who compiled a 9-8 record in dual matches last spring.

The Govs hope to continue their four-match winning streak against the Mocs; Austin Peay is 4-14 all-time against Chattanooga, with each of the last two matches having been decided by a single point.

After opening their season on the road, the Governors will open their home schedule 3:00pm, January 29th, when they host Abilene Christian in the Austin Peay Tennis Center.
