Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUBrentwood, TN – Austin Peay State University junior track and field standout Breigh Jones once more has been awarded the adidas®/Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Co-Female Track Athlete of the Week, the fourth time this season she has won at least a share of the award.

Jones picked up a trio of top-three finishes at last week’s SIU Invitational, winning the 60m (7.64) and 200m (25.05) dashes and running the lead-off leg of the 4x400m relay that posted a runner-up 3:54.09 mark.

The 60m mark is a school record, giving Jones three indoor and two outdoor school marks either as an individual or as part of a relay team, 2 ½ years into her Austin Peay career.

Entering competition at this weekend’s Spire Invitational, Jones is one of only nine athletes in the country to rank in their respective conference top-fives in the 60m, 200m and 400m dashes.

Of those, only four, including Jones, compete in a conference featuring at least 10 women’s track and field teams. Only three – Jones (200m and 400m), Quinnipiac’s Shameal Samuels (200m and 400m) and LIU Brooklyn’s Stephanie Adioo (60m and 200m) are also conference leaders in two of the three events.

This is the fifth career weekly honor Jones, who shared this week’s award with SIU Edwardsville’s LaDonna Caston, has received from the conference office and already her fourth this season.

Jones and the Lady Govs return to action this weekend in Geneva, Ohio, for the Spire Invitational, Feb. 13-14.
