Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University opened the home part of its 2015 schedule with a pair of losses, Friday at Cheryl Holt Field, including being no-hit in the nightcap, as Miami (Ohio) won by scores of 13-2 and 9-0.
Wright’s Free Throw Advances Northwest Vikings past West Creek Coyotes, 53-52, in District Tournament
Clarksville, TN – The first round District 10-AAA tournament game between the #1 Northwest Vikings (17-10) and the #8 West Creek Coyotes (4-24) at Northwest High School Friday night came very close to being an upset. However, some last second defense and a clutch free throw made by Northwest senior center Marice Wright kept that from happening.
With five seconds left in the game, Wright made a free throw to give the Vikings the 53-52 win over the Coyotes and advance to the semifinals of the District 10-AAA tournament.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team rallied from a six-run deficit to open the 2015 campaign with a 15-7 victory against Niagara, Friday, in the Governors Challenge at Raymond C. Hand Park.
Austin Peay (1-0) trailed 7-2 after the top of the sixth, but scored the game’s final 13 runs to secure the win.
Clarksville Police Department releases Alcoholic Beverage Commission Operation results from February 11th, 2015
Clarksville, TN – On Wednesday, February 11th, 2015 Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) Agents of the Clarksville Police Departments Special Operations Unit conducted compliance checks on nine businesses targeting sales of alcohol to underage persons. Four of the businesses checked were cited for selling alcohol to underage persons.
Captain Craig Gipson, the Special Operations Unit Commander, stated, “Since January 1st, forty-three businesses have been checked for compliance with ten businesses or 23 percent being cited for selling alcohol to underage persons. While the majority of businesses comply with the law, any business selling alcohol to underage persons is unacceptable.” «Read the rest of this article»

National Weather Service reports Frigid Weather and possible Snow for Clarksville – Montgomery County
Nashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) says there will be at least three periods of weather this weekend and into the first part of next week that will bring some type of significant weather to the Clarksville-Montgomery County area as well as Middle Tennessee.
As early as Saturday afternoon, a cold front will sweep into the Mid-State. There will be snow chances behind this front Saturday evening, with up to a half inch possible on the plateau and a dusting to a quarter inch for the rest of the area.

I confess that I didn’t want to write this post, but as opening weekend crept closer and closer, it became more and more obvious that a lot of the folks who will be standing in line to see this film are Christians. And I can’t keep silent about that. Therefore, this post is for believers (and not just women; according to MovieTickets.com, 80 percent of Valentine’s Day tickets are being purchased by couples).

Fort Campbell, KY – On February 21st, MWR Outdoor Recreation will hold an Introduction to Rock Climbling Class from 10:00am until 12:00noon. Learn about rock climbing, how to use the equipment and techniques.
This class will introduce you to rock climbing, teach you how to use the equipment and explain different climbing techniques. Equipment will be provided.
The cost for the class is $15.00. This class is for ages 18 and over.
