Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – It took until Week 10 for Austin Peay State University’s football team to attempt a field goal.  The Govs are hopeful they have solved their kicking and punting concerns with the signing of Blake Levin.

The Cheyenne, Wyoming native will have three seasons of eligibility remaining after serving as kicker at Santa Barbara (CA) City College in 2014.

He redshirted in 2013 at Northern State, a Division II school in Aberdeen, South Dakota.

A former all-conference punter and kicker at Cheyenne Central, he booted 9-of-10 field goals and 32-of-35 extra points at Santa Barbara this past season, despite missing two games with a quadriceps injury.

He came back from the injury going four-of-four on field goals and 11-of-12 on extra points. During the season, the 5-10, 185-pounder connected on four field goals of more than 40 yards—his only miss being from 47 yards out.

He was chosen to the 2014 Kicking World College All-America team after being named to 2012 Kick World High School All-America team. He was a second-team all-state punter as a senior and earned all-league honors as a kicker. Earlier that summer he won the Kicking World Kickoff Competition at the Toms River, New Jersey camp.

Freshman Dakota Vincil served as Govs kicker much of the 2014 season, making four-of-five, but will not be returning. Rising junior Evan Toby has served as APSU’s kickoff specialist the past two seasons. In addition, record-setting punter Ben Campbell completed his Governors eligibility in the fall.
