APSU Governors Golf ties for 11th place at Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUHilton, SC – Austin Peay State University men’s golf team finished tied for 11th in the shortened 10th Annual Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate, played on the Wexford Plantation course.

The tourney, which was reduced to 36 holes when Monday’s darkness stopped the second round and Tuesday’s early weather conditions only allowed the second round to be completed.

The Governors shot a second-round 305 to end at 609, tying them with Campbell for the 11th spot. Wofford won the event with a two-round 596, followed by Georgia Southern and Charleston Southern at 593.

Junior Austin Kramer finished just outside the Top 10, tying for 12th with a two-round 147 (73-74). Freshman Andres Navarrete tied for 22nd at 151 (74-77). Junior Tyler Phillips, in his first APSU tourney, tied for 41st at 154 (79-75). Tucker Wallace (78-80=158) and freshman Justin Arens (79-79=158) tied for 62nd in 95-player, 19-team field.

The tournament was the Govs’ spring season opener and first under new coach Robbie Wilson.
