Clarksville American Red Cross Seeking Community Volunteers for Variety of Positions

Next Volunteer Orientation Class March 3rd

American Red CrossClarksville, TN – Every single day, the American Red Cross helps people in emergencies.

Whether it’s one displaced family, thousands of disaster victims, or providing care and comfort to an ill or injured service member or veteran or support to a military family member, the vital work is made possible by community volunteers.

To help carry out its mission, The American Red Cross of Tennessee River is seeking volunteer support from area residents.

“From serving meals to disaster victims to taking photographs to help tell our story, volunteers contribute throughout our community,” said Faye Anderson, Executive Director.  “It is through the time and care of ordinary people that we can do extraordinary things.”

The Tennessee River Chapter of the American Red Cross serves Montgomery, Stewart, Houston, Dickson, Humphreys, Hickman, Perry, Lewis, Maury, Wayne, Lawrence and Giles Counties.

Opportunities are available in the following capacities:

Volunteer Management
Assist with volunteer recruitment, placement, record keeping and recognition.

Disaster Services
Provide food, shelter, comfort and home for families affected by major disasters such as fire, hurricanes and tornadoes.

Disaster Action Team
Volunteers need to respond to single-family fires with a disaster action team supervisor.

School Clubs
Students and teachers from elementary school through college lead Red Cross school clubs.

Health and Safety Instructor
Teach community classes such as CPR, First Aid and water safety to children and adults.

First Aid Team
First Aid and CPR volunteers staff special events throughout the year.

Armed Forces Caseworker
Ensure delivery of emergency communications for members of the military and their families.

Blood Donor Recruiter
Work with individuals, groups and companies to recruit blood donors and promote blood drives.

Blood Drive Volunteer
Greet and register blood donors.

Thank a Donor
Make calls to thank Red Cross financial donors.

Public Affairs
During disasters, tell the Red Cross story to your community.

Social Media
Be an online advocate and tell the mission of the Red Cross.

Special Events
Support fundraising and special events.
