Kennesaw, GA – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team dropped its fifth road match of the season as the Lady Govs lost 6-1 to Kennesaw State, Saturday, at Kennworth Park.
Fort Campbell, KY – Fort Campbell Outdoor Recreation has scheduled the dates for the 2015 Rough and Tough Hiking Tour. There will be 3 hikes in the spring and 3 in the fall.
The first hike will be on March 14th and will cover 11 miles at Land Between the Lakes (LBL) Canal Loop. Followed by 9 miles at Virgin Falls State Natural Area on April 11th and 10 miles at Prentice Cooper State Forest Mullen’s Cove Loop on May 9th.

Kennesaw, GA – Austin Peay State University played better on the second day of the Kennesaw State Owl Invitational, Saturday in Kennesaw, GA, but still couldn’t come away with a victory in dropping a 10-7 decision to Indiana and an 8-2 final to Kennesaw State.
Nashville, TN – It took overtime, but the Tennessee State women’s basketball team was crowned Ohio Valley Conference Champions following a, 64-60, win over No. 1 seeded UT Martin on Saturday.
With the win, TSU is headed to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1995.
Brianna Lawrence led TSU with 22 points, 18 of which came after halftime. Her performance earned her OVC Tournament MVP honors following the game. Rachel Allen (13 points) and Chelsea Hudson (eight points) joined Lawrence on the All-OVC Tournament Team.

Austin Peay vs. Eastern Illinois

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay’s baseball team will begin its 30-game Ohio Valley Conference schedule when it hosts Eastern Illinois in a three-game set, Sunday-Monday, at Raymond C. Hand Park.
A final schedule for the series had not been determined as of Saturday morning due to lingering snow on the field in Clarksville. However, every effort will be made to play all three games Sunday and Monday.
Clarksville, TN – Chicago-based artist Sergio Gomez brings his bold figurative works to the Customs House Museum with the exhibit The Land In Between.
Exhibited in the two-story Crouch Gallery, the moody, ghost-like forms that anchor Gomez’s large paintings appear restless and calm at the same time, amid dripping colors and spackled landscapes.

New State Veterans Home prepares to open in Clarksville
Nashville, TN – Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs Commissioner Many-Bears Grinder joins the Tennessee State Veterans Homes (TSVH) Board in celebrating the announcement from U.S. News & World Report 2015 which names the Tennessee State Veterans Homes in Murfreesboro, Humboldt and Knoxville among the best in the country.
U.S. News and World Report rated more than 16,000 nursing homes using data research on nursing home safety, health inspection and staffing. The source of the data originates from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Nashville, TN – Belmont University men’s basketball sophomore Evan Bradds (Jamestown, Ohio) sank two free throws with 26 seconds remaining and used a final defensive stop to outlast Eastern Kentucky, 53-52, in the semifinal round of the 2015 OVC Basketball Championship.
The game was a rematch of the 2014 OVC Championship, which saw the Colonels claim a 79-73 victory.
Three-pointers from sophomore Taylor Barnette (Lexington, Ky.) and junior Craig Bradshaw (Ridgetop, Tenn.) sparked Belmont to an early 6-2 lead.
