Clarksville Junior Auxiliary to host 4th annual Cheers for Charity, April 11th

 

Junior Auxiliary of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Looking for something fun to do? How about a wine tasting with some added flair? Junior Auxiliary of Clarksville will host the 4th annual Cheers for Charity on Saturday, April 11th at the Sango Event Center. Tickets are on sale now!

Cheers for Charity is an evening of wine tasting with a little competition! Each team, consisting of two people, will bring three bottles of the same wine.

We have just the thing you’re looking for at the Fort Campbell Riding Stables! Join MWR for a Spring Break Horse Camp. Your child will learn the basics of being an equestrian. Camp is for ages 8 and up.

The Spring Break Horse Camp will take place March 30th through April 3rd. Times are from 8:00am until 12:00pm daily.

APSU Lady Govs Tennis loses to SIU Edwardsville Cougars

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUEdwardsville, IL – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to SIU Edwardsville, Saturday, at the SIUE Tennis Courts.

With the loss the Lady Govs fall to 2-13 overall, with a 0-5 mark in the Ohio Valley Conference. SIUE improves to 7-8 overall, with a 3-1 OVC record.

Clarksville’s LEAP Organization’s Website Hacked

 

LEAP OrganizationClarksville, TN – On March 20th, 2015, a hacker defaced the LEAP Organization’s website (www.leaporg.net) resulting in its hosting company deactivating it for up to a week while all malware is removed. This couldn’t come at a worse time for the organization who is currently in a online building fund campaign.

The morning of the cyber attack, LEAP published an update on various social media outlets that Dave Davidson, the owner of the building reduced the sales price and the Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union provided favorable financing terms that reduced the down payment from $633,277 to $360,000. The organization has already raised $38,743 reducing the down payment to $321,257.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office gives Tips for Motorcyclist Safety

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOMontgomery County, TN – After several recent motorcycle crashes, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to be more aware of motorcycle riders and help ensure motorist safety.

“Now that the weather has improved, more riders are getting out on their bikes, and people may not be used to seeing them,” said Sgt. Jimmy Brown. “Drivers should retrain themselves to be more aware of these smaller vehicles.”

Brown said there were 150 motorcycle wrecks in Montgomery County in 2014.

APSU Lady Govs Track and Field has great start at Georgia Relays

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUAthens, GA – Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team got its outdoor season started on a strong foot in the Georgia Relays, Friday, at Spec Towns Track.

The strongest showing belonged to Austin Peay’s triple-jump contingent, which posted the top four marks on the evening.

Clarksville Gas and Water reports Covington Street Water Outage

 

Saturday, March 21st, 2015

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has turned off water service on Covington Street to repair a water main leak. There is currently low water pressure and residents may also experience water loss during the work.

The repair is anticipated to be finished and water service restored by approximately 10:00am.

The road is open to traffic.
