13th annual Rivers and Spires Festival to be held April 16th-18th

Rivers and Spires FestivalClarksville, TN – Clarksville’s award winning Rivers and Spires Festival returns with a packed three day schedule of FREE entertainment for everyone April 16th-18th.

Long considered Clarksville’s largest event, the Festival has an estimated 40,000 in attendance annually. Festival goers enjoy expertly combined dynamic music, artistic exhibits, thrilling competitions, and intriguing vendor booths.

For its thirteenth appearance, the Rivers and Spires Festival has again set the stakes high with multiple well known musical headliners, 11 concentrated areas of interest, the return of fan favorites and a host of fresh ideas.

Clarksville’s upcoming free festival boasts musicians of all genres filling five entertainment stages across the Festival. The weekend kicks off with Mr. Speed, a KISS tribute band, on Thursday evening.

On Friday, country music chart toppers, Love and Theft take the stage. Saturday is chock full of entertainment on all five stages. The Public Square stage boasts the Brazillian 2wins, followed by Will Champlin, finalist from The Voice. The Family Fun Zone Stage will play host the Grammy nominated Sanctus Real.

Family fun is at the center of all Rivers and Spires Festival activities. Whether it’s traditional family enjoyment or new ways to make memories, the Rivers and Spires Family Fun Zone delivers.

This year’s Family Fun Zone theme is “Pirates”, so bring your crew of swashbucklers out to enjoy the fun! Toddler Town and the Kids Zone, in the Hiter and Commerce Street area, offer music, inflatables, performers, demonstrations, face painting, carnival games and numerous kinds of interactive entertainment.

The “Pirate” theme will carry over into the Children’s Parade. Children and groups are encouraged to enter the Children’s Parade theme contest. Come cheer on the parade participants at 1:00pm on Saturday.

“Kids Celebration” will be the featured kid’s entertainment this year. Kids Celebration is an amazing family experience like no other family show. This highly interactive game show is skillfully produced for children and parents to enjoy together.

Clarksville, well-known for its multicultural population, magnifies the many traditions and talents of our community’s heritage during the Rivers and Spires Festival. The International area offers cultural experiences and performances in the Main and Third Street stage area.

You simply cannot come to Rivers and Spires without getting some shopping in. During the jam packed three days, you will have the opportunity to purchase unique gifts and novelties that you won’t find anywhere else. The Marketplace has everything from eclectic home items, toys and games to clothing and jewelry. Visit Arts Galore to see handmade artwork, jewelry and woodwork from artisans from all over the country who come to Clarksville to display their wares.

The award-winning Military Appreciation Area will once again offer the Total Army Experience. This attraction gives Festival goers the opportunity to try their hand at being a soldier through an interactive system including a helicopter simulator, Abrams tank or a marksmanship activity.

No standing on the sidelines in the Sports Zone. This area of the Festival grows each year and is a great activity for teens and young adults. Ride a bull, climb a rock wall, or participate in a mini-sports clinic led by APSU student athletes.

The 2015 Rivers and Spires Arm Wrestling Tournament will also be in the Sports Zone. From novice to professional, men and women have the opportunity to prove their strength and walk away with some cash and trophy prizes.

For the gamer in your life, Gig City Gaming returns to the Festival. Choose your own adventure among more than 160 video games, including virtual reality and multiplayer games, in the Gig City Gaming area located in the underground parking garage located off Franklin Street. Parents and players can stay in the know and be aware of the game’s maturity ratings by signs on the street and online at www.riversandspires.com

Mark your calendars for the Rivers and Spires Festival from April 16th-18th! Lined with craft and food vendors, five music stages, kids activities and artisan booths, the streets of downtown transform each year as the Festival goes into full swing.

Hours this year are April 16th-18th from 5:00pm-10:00pm and April 18th from 10:00am – 8:00pm. Admission to the Festival is free including all concerts and many games and activities. Please remember No Pets and No Weapons Allowed.
