During the windy day, the Govs had just three rounds in the 70s, one from junior standout Jessica Cathey, who a shot 78 in the afternoon round after shooting 80 in the morning, while the other two came from sophomore Kelsey Schutt, who had rounds of 79 and 78 as an individual. She is tied for 22nd while Cathey is tied for 25th.

“I am very proud of Kelsey and the way she played today,” APSU coach Sara Robson said. “The wind played a big factor in the morning but we missed way too many putts in the afternoon.

“We need to go out tomorrow and be confident over four-to-eight foot putts.”

Playing as individuals, senior Meghan Mueller shot back-to-back 83s (166) while freshman Sarah Struble shot 94-85 (179).

The final round of the 54-hole event will be played Saturday on the par-72, 6,017-yard layout.
